We made a whole stage selection process for a reason. Sure the platforms can "kill" you if you stand on them too long, but I feel like part of the fun in Smash bros is using the stage to your advantage to win the match. This stage honestly isn't on the same level as janky stages. Mario side tilt kills at 219 at the ledge and 273 at center stage.įalcon up tilts are. Mario up tilt kills at 212 on the edges, and 213 in the clock's face. The other platforms all rise to the top, which won't kill you.Įdit 3: Thanks to a suggestion by /u/The_Sad_onion I have decided to add information that follows this post on smash boards: Those two are the one that appears below the stage, and the solid one that travels from right to left. I was able to get all the different transformations on the one that appears in the first 10 seconds.Įdit 2: There are only 2 platforms that will kill you if you ride them for too long. They appear to have no real pattern to them. You still pass through it, but its sides are grabable.Įdit: A bit more on the transformations. The biggest ones to be wary of are the hard platform, which ledges can be grabbed, one with walk offs on both size, and one with a platform under the stage. There are many transformations, but I don't have a quality way to picture them all. The only exception to this rule is the hard platform (the one that you don't pass through and is solid) which shows on screen 30 seconds after the first, always moves from right to left, takes 15 seconds to do so, and then a new formation shows up 30 seconds later. After the platforms leave, 25 seconds afterwards, a new platform formation takes its place. They begin to shake before they leave, and then completely leave the stage 30 seconds after they initially show up. The platforms move slightly, but typically remain in a similar location. The first platforms come in ten seconds into the match. Lastly, I want to catalog transformations and the times at which the transformations happen. On Clock Tower, it took 31 utilts to reach one side to the other. On Clock Tower Little Mac died in 1.9 seconds.įinally for distance, I measured using Falcon utilts. There is very possible human error here, but I was unsure how to properly test it. In Clock Tower, Mario died at 93% on both sides.įor bottom blast zone, I used Little Mac and Haymakered off the stage, starting the timer from initial use to the time Little Mac died. I didn't have issues with auto cancels as far as I tested, but it does make killing up slightly harder.įor side blast zones, I tested again on Mario, but this time using Ness's back throw. In case you haven't noticed it yet, there is a small dip where the clock is at in the stage. To find upper blast zone, I used Mewtwo's up throw on Mario.įrom the outer portions of the clock, Mario died at 141 and on the clock head itself he died at 143. I would also like to note all testing for kills was done in training with 0 di. I use Final Destination to kind of help people get an idea of various kill percentages. To make this easier, I've started to catalog information about it. So with Umbra Clock Tower out, I know lots of people have discussed its competitive viability.
